Bypass VATS questions
If I have Brian from PCMForless bypass VATS for me; will this allow me to install another car alarm system or am I totally off the mark here? And if I am, what exactly will bypassing VATS do for me?

The Vats system is the Security system that reads the chip in your key and makes sure it is the right key in order to start the car. If it the wrong one then it will trough a security code, I don't think it is related to the alarm, not sure about that though.

Bypassing VATS in the PCM will only help retrofitters/swappers (into a different body) because they don't use the other pieces and modules of the harness we use.
So like InjectedSS mentioned, bypassing it in the PCM in an LT1 body, won't disable it completely if you have a VATS problem, or will create one by messing with the alarm.
The PCM side of the VATS only handles the injectors. (it will allow or not allow them to run, depending on the situation)
The rest of the VATS disables the starter and the fuel pump.

If you want to fully bypass VATS, you need to also remove the relay that sends the signal to the VATS computer module. It's on the right side of the metal wall in the glove compartment. Just pull it out, cut the wires, and connect the purple and brown wires (do not connect the purple and yellow wires unless you want to be able to start your car in gear). This is also a good time to wire in a switch to prevent startup without the switch being pushed down or flipped on.
