Datalogging Question (Datamaster, Free Scan)

I am trying to datalog my motor so I can send in some information to Bryan at PCM4Less to redo my program for my 392 in my 95 Formula. Right now my BLMs are maxed at 108 at idle and cruise and my 02s are still in the .700-.750 range so I need to get Bryan to adjust my tuning...I just need to give him something to look at to make the proper adjustments.

I tried logging with Freescan and my AKM Cable Sunday...and it would only log the first line of data it saw and then repeat it over and over. Anybody know what I could be doing wrong?

I then remembered we had downloaded a trial version of Datamaster a long time ago and never tried any of the free 20 uses. Datamaster would check the connection and report back that it was good, but then when I tried to log, it would report that a connection couldn't be found...was reporting an error. Anybody know why it wouldn't work? Do you have to use a Datamaster specific cable or can you use an LT1-Edit Cable from AKM like I am doing?

I do know that when I was just monitering my information it kept losing the feed and having to reconnect for some reason. All of the connections appeared to be good.

Thanks,

Dave

Whats your laptop setup? What OS, etc...

Also, the cable you have is fine for LT1 Edit, Freescan, Datamaster, etc...

How long have you recorded for? And was it on the street or just sitting in the driveway idling?

We tried logging for a couple of minutes while driving down the road. It is an old laptop. It is a P166 with 24 RAM and uses Windows 95. I am just trying to use it to log...I use my desktop for any programming. I just noticed on Freescan's page that it has some problems with Windows 95 that makes it hard to work with..doesn't say it is impossible. It does say that it will work fine with Windows 95 OSR2, but I have no idea it mine has that or not....

It has worked fine in the past for a friend of mine...his 94 Z28 logged fine using it several months ago.

Not sure what is up....

Thanks for the help,

Dave
