FAST XFI ecu on our cars?

Somehow I stumbled on an old ad where the member was selling his FAST XFI. He mentioned that he had the main harness, injector harness but what caught my eye was he mentioned having an opti ignition adapter where it appears to plug into the opti where the normal wiring harness plugs in.

I thought on all aftermarket ECU's you would have to convert to a coil on plug set up and have both crank and cam sensors like the EFI connection and Torqhead conversions. Can this ECU be adapted to our cars without the aforementioned changes? Just curious.

I am not 100% on this, but I believe the Opti can be converted to just sent the cam position, but you would still need some sort of coil on plug conversion.

It does not NEED to be coil-on- or even coil-per-plug. That’s preferable for other reasons, but the XFI can control pretty much any ignition setup you can imagine. For details, I’d recommend contacting FAST’s tech support. They’re excellent.

OK , thanks for the info. I figured you would have to do the coil per plug and someway provide a crank sensor so that's why I was surprised to see a harness going to the opti which I took it to mean that they could use the stock ignition. Interesting! Of course, I would imagine that if you were going to go that far, it would make more sense to do the whole conversion. Thanks for the responses, guys.
