Just wondering if the Commander 950 actually replaces the stock ECM, or if it works in conjunction with it. I can't figure this out, doesn't the stock ECM in an 86 T/A TPI control the trans as well as other things? Holley says the Commander only controls fuel and spark, how would this work?

There's a ton of answers to your last three posts over on Thirdgen.org message boards. Go to the DIY Prom section. Looks like your best bet for your new setup will be to swap ECM's and go to a "730" computer w/ $8D code. As far as equipment for tuning , you'll need Tunercat, Datamaster, E prom Burner, Eprom Eraser, Moats Eprom Adaptor board. Ah, and a lot of reading time and study. There's an introductory tech article written by Traxion on that board that explains Eprom burning.
