Is LS1 Edit 'outdated'? Someone told me it was.. .. I have no idea, seeing as I'm a complete nEwB to tuning.

What are the most recent and/or better tuning programs? Is there a site w/ tuning basics I can read?
EDIT: Hmm... Found this one.

My buddy is getting into this and just bought HP Tuners software. He is going to re-tune my car, but save my previous LS1 Edit tune done by ESP. I don't want to 'throw' away a $430 tune, but I've added an LS6 intake and a 160 stat. I had ESP turn my fans down when I had it tuned originally.

THanx...
