Ny problems running TC with AVG running in the background?

I know to disable the screensaver but anyone have problems loading a file with antivirus software running too? I haven't yet but don't want to either

I have run TC and AVG in the past, but if you have updated AVG (they forced to upgrade late last year) you may be exposed to the avgchsvx.exe slowing down the CPU (do a search) . I would absolutely NOT run the new AVG while loading the PCM. Since there was no fix to the problem I dumped AVG a couple of months ago. Buy the way, I can't remember where) but the TC software tells you to disable antivirus and make sure PC battery is charged before starting PCM uploads, I also shut down the network (wireless or wired) when loading the PCM it's a good rule of thumb to follow.

you could try this also ...
in vista home premium service pack 2:
with AVG 9.0.733 (free edition) installed
start "msconfig.exe"
goto "Startup Tab"
uncheck "AVG Internet Security"
use OK button
After doing this the AVG interface should report "no active components"
This seems to completely disable AVG (although using the questionable OS aka windows you can never be sure!!)
A good idea to go to the "device manager" and disable the wireless lan (802.11 driver) too!

No problems here, but it's always wise to just turn off these programs when working on the PCM.
