Pcm lost connection while reprogramming..
I was using lt1 edit to put a different program into my 95' T/A earlier today and everything worked good as usual and when it got to 16% it stopped and just read trying to re-establish communication with pcm. I let it go for like 5 minutes to see if it would recover and nothing. Checked connections and all were fine, so I just had to close the program. I disconnected the battery for 10 minutes and tried again and now it will stay at 0% and wont communicate. Car starts and runs for 1 or 2 seconds and fans are on when the key is on now. Anyway to get around sending it in for repair? And what causes it to stop communication in the middle of programming? Any help would be great.. Thanks

IMHO, you have 2 problems.
1) Your PCM will not run. When an LT1 PCM is reprogamming, it erases everything first, including the bootstap program. It is not going to run, as you have realized. You will need to send it in to be repaired.
2) You are using LT1 Edit, which is VIN locked to that exact PCM. Unless you purchase another license, you have to use that one.
My suggestion is to purchase a used PCM, TunerCat, a cable, and get free copies of DataMaster and VEMaster. None of these apps are VIN locked like LT1Edit, and they are far more flexible. TunerCat, for example, has a ton more adjustments than LT1Edit. Now is your opportunity to upgrade, and I strongly suggest you do so.

If you have an eprom programmer with the right socket you can reflash your chips with a base program and then reinsert them into the sockets in the pcm and then put your program for your car back on them. Where are you located?

Replacement is cheaper than repair. LTx PCMs are throwaway items...
See if you can find a nice person with tunercat who will change the VIN in the new one so you can use your lt1edit with it.
[edit] Actually, I see from your previous posts that you didn't actually buy lt1edit, so here's your chance to purchase tunercat which will be able to program the replacement PCM and you can be legal![/edit]
Good question - you need to try and figure out why it did that or you may end up with more bricks. Have you uploaded successfully in the past?

I was told (by madz28) that lt1edit locked itself to a hardware number in the pcm, and changing the software number did not work. I have no actual experience in this.
IIRC, your pcm has 2 flash chips. So you would need spare flash chips and a flash programmer. It would be much cheaper to get a used pcm, around $50.

It has uploaded fine in the past. I done it many times and no issues.. MadZ28 charges $65 to replace the flash chip and socket the pcm. And then I can get spares for $35. I think im gonna go that route and maybe get tunercat in a month of so. My buddy bought lt1 edit and me and him are the 2 vins on lt1 edit. So for $65 I was gonna keep my pcm and have it fixed, so if theres a next time I can just fix it myself.
