Thanks. So far we have found 3 versions of this cable including this one. I guess the only way to be sure is to check the continuity with a multimeter (ohmmeter). Although, in this case, trial and error methods would work and be safe to use.

re: Scan9495: Free OBD1 scan app for 93/94/95 LT1
To all users:
I have placed a beta version of this app in the Trials folder. It has added automatic transmission datalogging capability.
It produces a file similar to the type for the engine scan but with the word "trans" added. There is no capability yet to load the file into the app for viewing. So you might want to use Microsoft Excel or Apache Calc to view it effectively.
There is an added transmission data tab to the right end that has a new format for the transmission data but the old tab works as usual. Eventually the old one will be removed. The new tab uses a checkbox to select the datalogging.
If the checkbox is checked and scanning is started, a datalogging file will be created separately from the engine file. It is not necessary to run both logs or both engine and transmission scans at the same time.
I would like to ask a favor of anyone with a normally-acting transmission. It would be a great help to have a known-good log file to use in comparing results. If some users could run a short scan while driving the car a few minutes it would be a great help. Just drive normally from a stop up to about 45mph through all the gears and slow back down to a stop. It would also be helpful to make sure the TC lockup occurs even if that takes longer to scan. You can elmail the file to me at scan9495@gmail.com. ManyThanks!

Thanks to the fine effort by "rngilliland" (Rob), we now have a known-good auto transmission scan. It is posted in the same folder as the beta version of the app. In the future, it will be inside the main zip file. Thanks Rob!

Awesome effort on this. I haven't tried it yet but looks great.
Quick question: will the software work on windows 2000?
My super old tuning laptop is running widows 2000. If I use a different one I will need to buy the USB cable. I'm not opposed to this but would rather not spend the money if I don't have to. Thanks in advance.

I don't believe it will because it needs the .Net Framework Version 4 (or higher) installed as support, and according to Microsoft, you need Win XP SP3 or later for that.
The only reason I can't be exactly sure is that I know of someone who uses XP SP2 and, up until the latest version, it has worked ok for him.
You can try installing .Net Framework 4 (free) from Microsoft as see what happens.

I'm not sure that will work but I can try. Do you have an older version that might work?
I'm getting an intermittent SES light that is driving me crazy not knowing what it is. Looking for a way to see it without spending a lot. Thanks.

There isn't an older version with different requirements.
But have you tried Freescan 2.1.0? It can read the trouble codes and some engine sensors. It will run on Win98 and XP (and Win7), so I assume it will work for Win2000(???). You can download it from sourceforge.net or from the same location where my app is stored. If it gives an error message at startup, just ignore it. I is looking for a settings file that doesn't exist yet.
