Re: Scan9495: Free OBD1 scan app for 93/94/95 LT1

added updated Version 2.4 today. It adds the D27 pin input voltage to the engine table in an option in the Settings screen. I heard that some folks are using that pin to monitor a wideband sensor, instead of the AC input. It takes the place of the Baro entry. I didn't want all the hassle of adding it, so just gave the user the option to substitute for Baro. Also, I never posted version 2.3, which added some history codes for the ABS. Those are included in 2.4.

Re: Scan9495: Free OBD1 scan app for 93/94/95 LT1

I just read through all 22 pages of the scan 9495 and from what I gather I can buy cables from red devil river -usb to aldl cable and download your scan 9495 and monitor my engine performance? Is this correct? I'm computer challenged but the computer is new with windows 10.The car runs great now but being a previous f body owner, and many trips to the mechanic, this might save some money maybe in the future.I've been using my GM code reader from long ago(easier than the paper clip) and it seemed to work ok.It has the switch for ecm or abs on it.Sorry for the long post. Many thanks for your wonderful input.

That's correct. You will need to use a pc that can be placed withing the cable's reach of the car's connector (USB extensions are ok). The pc must have the Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0 (or later) software (free from Microsoft) installed. Another source for the cable is aldlcable.com.

Well I went to Microsoft.net framework and they offer 4.5 and now 4.6
For the average person what would you suggest, and I am running 8 gigs of ram,so will this slow down the computer?Thank you

Either version should be ok. The program was written for 4.0 so there is no advantage for newer ones. The .Net Framework only runs with apps like Scan9495 so it has no effect on anything else.

OK, I received my new cable today and they also gave me a CD to install before I plug the cable into the car.Should I use the CD or the download I got from GaryDoug or both?I'm going to try this out Monday (my day off). Many thanks.

Re: Scan9495: Free OBD1 scan app for 93/94/95 LT1

Not sure what your question is. You can't really learn much from a single frame or two of data. That is what you posted. And the engine isn't running, so there's not much there. Typically the software can scan about 9 frames per second, meaning there are more than 2,500 frames (lines) of data in a 5 minute log.

You have to run a data log over a period of time - which you may have done. If you are having a problem while the engine is running, try to duplicate the conditions when you are running the data log. One screen shot looks like the beginning of the log, the other is at the end of the log. Save the entire data log as a .csv file and upload it to an FTP site. Put the link in your post.
