1/8th mile times in 93 Z28 M6 on 150 shot

hi, went to the local 1/8th mile track last night in my brothers car. Mods are 3:73 gear, msd box, drag radials, and nitrous works wet kit. Car still has the stock exhaust and has 148K miles.

best time on motor
8.39 ET
1.83 60'
82mph

best time on 150 shot
7.36
1.63 60'
95mph

Just wondering has anybody seen a basically stock LT1 car run this good.

Not sure about the sprayed time, but the NA time is very very good. I know of a 8.6/82 with drag radials, punched out cat, and not much else. That 8.3 is faster than me. I hope to be in the 8.3s with some DR and look at my sig

I know it really surpises both of us. I have a 94Z28 A4 with about all the bolt ons and it has only ran a 8.36. Some of the other camaro guys are saying its not the stock motor but you can tell by looking that the motor has never been out.

thanks

Those are very impressive times both N/A and on the spray.

82 mph is a bit high for a completely stock 93 lt1. something else has to be done to it.

he has had the car for two year now and you can tell that it has never had any motor work done unless it has had it when it was new. When he first got it he ran a 8.65 on street tires and stock gear and the mph was around 81. It could also use a chip because it gets in the rev limiter around 5 grand. We live in a small town so there is not that many fuel injected fans in the area. We see very few modified LT1 and LS1 cars. Only fuel injected cars are the old 5.0 cars.

Nice times! Can you describe to me your launch technique? I am going to the track in 2 wks w/ MT DR's for the first time and would like to know how others are launching a M6 with these tires.

That is damn good for all motor and just basically a gear. The best I ran with my mods are 8.80@80.79 mph on a 2.0 60'.

You need to get down to the track while I'm there, my old LT1 goes 7.70s on motor only (don't even have NO2). I may be at the track tonight but witout the car, as I'm headed to the bracket race at the new Lawton track tomorrow (no need to T&T tonight). My next NHRA bracket race at T/V is April 29, but also have the COFBA track day Friday April 28. Possibly you can make one of these events. I also PMed you today with my cell number. Hope to see you at the track and give me a call if you are there.
