a4 guys launch technique?

Re: a4 guys launch technique?
If it's playing with a ricer, I'll roll into the throttle easy to let him think he's got a chance, then nail it to the speed limit and lift, letting him fly by and be the one speeding. At the track I'll hold the brake and crack the throttle to get the rpms up to 1000-1100rpm on the stock converter. On the 2nd yellow light I goto 3/4 WOT and a split second later release the brake. I go to WOT as quickly as traction allows.

You have a stock converter, right?
Press the gas pedal just enough to take the slack out of the drivetrain. You should hear a slight change in tone and "feel" it tighten up.
On the last yellow, floor the gas pedal an instant BEFORE you sidestep the brake.
That'll flash the converter as high as she'll go and give you your most effecient and repeatable launch.

When I am at the line, I bring my rpms up to about 1500, and on the last yellow start rolling into the throttle until I get moving a 20 feet or so then I lay into it. If I just punch it at the line, my Nitto DRs go up in smoke.
