Cool Anyone like open loop, for drag racing?

Just wondering. My car seems to love it at the moment. I have it programmed to stay open loop until the coolant reaches 250 degrees. In other words, no sensor screw up. Ilke it,
Fred

Buddy of mine set his LT1 stroker motor (383) to run in open-loop all the time. He said it felt quicker, but didn't show any gains at the track. The car also idled a little better.

I ran my car in OL. It was alot better. it picked up MPG too. it was just running too rich in CL so OL helped that.

I have found some problems that would help with explaining a few things so we will see after Phase II what the car likes.

So how do you guys tune a car with an open loop file?
Since you aren't getting any info from the O2's, what do you do?
I have a friends car that I'm trying to tune and we're having a heck of a time with it trying to tune it closed loop.
If anyone can give me some help or point me in the right direction, I'd be very thankful.

I run my Stocker in open loop, because I found it made it much more consistent and easier to tune. With a big cam and closed loop the computer tends to jump all over the place at idle.
