Re: Fastest stock heads/bottom end/rear end/NA LT1?

Nick I ran 11.86 when my car had 10bolt,radials,stockheads na. It was kind of funny I drove 150 miles to Gulfport,Miss. The car would 1.63 shortime on radials and i had the stock 10bolt. This old redneck came over and asked where I was from. I told him Louisiana. He looked at the 10bolt rearend and said how you going to get home when you break this rear. I looked at him and said "i don't know". Thats when I went home and told my wife i was getting a 12bolt are a truck and trailer. Frank95z

Damn those are some nice numbers! I really wish I was farther down south, you lucky bastards and your free horsepower from low altitude. What radials were you running? Same day I was at the track, buddy of mine with a 98 TA cut a 1.57 on Mickey Thompson Drag Radials through the stock rear: ran an 11.82@113.2.
i am thinking that if I get some better drag radials and a bigger stall, I could be around those times.[crosses fingers]

I was running BFG drag radials that were pretty worn. Frank95z

try and remove some more weight, 3500 converter and you should be in the ballpark that "frank95z" is in..

Your times are real similar to mine, cept I'm running a smaller cam.

On 245/50/16 Nitto's I cut a 1.66 60' and went 12.06 @ 112.81 with my 224/230 112 XE cam. Stock unported, never removed heads, 3.73's in the stock 10 bolt. Stock automatic with a 2800 Vigi and Trans Go w/ 2 washers. Of course the usual compliment of boltons, LT's, catback, cold air...

I've changed my setup a bit to a 3200 stall and ET Streets, shooting for high 11's sometime this year or early next.

Those are my plans for the winter also, except I am planning on going to 3400 or 3600rpm.

I was going to go that high but I've read and been suggested to that the Vigi starts losing some efficiency once it gets in that stall range, some people have actually gotten slower Apparently to go up to that # a Yank ST3500 would be the way to go. Something to think about.

That would be me going slower... Whats up Kid? How you been? Anyway I'd stay around a 3200 with your mods in a Vig. I went slower with my Vig3600 than with the Vig3200. Now I am back though... We'll see...

Re: Fastest stock heads/bottom end/rear end/NA LT1?

I'm here hangin' buddy.. went to the track tonight in some florida high 70's degree weather and was pullin' 12.44's.. not too bad.

Still trying to get used to this converter and where to launch. I'm finding lower RPM's and flashing is seeming to work better than pushing the stall to the breaking point.
