A taller tire will provide you a longer rollout at the start. Where do you leave?

With me, I was having to leave on the third yellow when it was solid on. I would bulb if I went when I first saw the light. It was difficult, frustrating, and inconsistent.

The 28" tires slowed down my launch by increasing my rollout just enough so now I leave when the light first comes on. This has made a world of difference in my starting line consistency.

i just switched to skinnies not too long ago. my wheel/tire combo is in sig.

the main reason for skinnies is not so much the fact that your running a skinnier tire, although that helps, but the big difference in weight. i had ZR-1s with 245/40s before that weighed in at about 50lbs a piece. my 15x5 welds w/ tires weigh 20lbs each. i also removed my FR sway bar too. now my car looks like its gonna tote the tire. your car will launch much better and have better weight transfer, thus decreasing your 60s. the front end will come up alot more.

and BTW, i have 185/65-15 pep boys futuras that i drive on every day. i wanted to get the 165s, but their a little too small for 5in wheels. the 185s really arent that much different. most people that see mine think there 3.5in wheels with 165s.

oh yea, whoever said somthing about grinding, i didnt have to grind at all on the front, just a very little on the back, with my pro stars.

Don't forget about bogart rims. They are the new kid on the block, lighter, great fitment, and many choices to choose from regarding styles.

Email me if you need more help.

Someone brought up the comment about grinding. Keep in mind, our calipers are floating, if you have aftermarket caliper, pads, or rotors, it can effect how weld, centerlines, bogarts fits.

The bogarts which I aided in the design, where made to be a direct bolt on, no spacers are ever needed.

You can view some of the styles on my site, and listed is one car with d10's on it. I have a few other cars with different styles, just not listed on my site.

I didn't realize Bogarts have only been around for about 9 years. Don't forget about Monocoque. They're basically 'garts under a different name.

I just got done putting my D10s(9.75"W) on tonight. The wheels fit the hubs just fine...the fenderwells however....

Just remember, bring a BFH when you put these on.

I'm also running 15x4 Convo Pro's with the 165 VW tire annd I've had no problems with them. No grinding, and I've logged in a few 1000 miles with the skinnies as a daily driver. Another thing, I've always thought that Convo Pro's on modern muscle look downright intimidating, that's why I chose the Centerlines over the Draglites.
