going to the track tomorrow, NEED TO KNOW HOW TO LAUNCH

as the subject says, i am taking my car to the track for the first time and i need to know the best way to have a quick launch. all of my previous cars have been 6 speeds and this one is an auto.

its a stock 99 ta. 4l60e running on half tread pirellis. can anyone tell me how? thanks

When I had my LT1 car I'd just hold the brake and press the gas.....you gotta test it a bit. Press the brake down like halfway and press the gas until the tires break, then back off a lil so they dont, and thats the RPM you should hold at the line. After the 3rd amber stand on it and let off the brake. We usually say 'stall it up'. Hope that made sence....I'm kinda tired and that makes my fingers move weird sometimes....

Oh yea, dont forget to air up the fronts and air down the rears....I usually went 40/15-20

I had 2.73's also....and it spun when I didn't air down. Brand new street treads too....

What does airing up the fronts help? I'm just getting into drag racing on a strip (1/8), is there a guide online as to what mods to do? Thnx
