Going to the track Wednesday

Going to the track Wednesday
I just got a 94 Formula A4 Black. I never launched an LT1 at the track. What should my launch technique be?
The only mod I know of is the K&N Cold air Kit.
I'm hoping for a 13.9@100.
Is that possible, what should it be able to run.
Thanks,
Dan

Re: Going to the track Wednesday
I ran my 95 camaro A4 a few weeks ago. I also hoped for 13.9 but it didn't happen. The best I got was 14.4. Don't be disappointed if you don't get 13.9. It's not as easy as you may think which is what I found out. The problem I had was traction. I couldn't get good traction through 1st. I think my car is capable of 13.9 with some good street radials and cooler weather but I found that it's pretty hard to get that time on street tires.

I cut 1.8 60's on street tires so I know it's possible to get "some" traction with street tires.

Launching an auto? Pretty much pin it and go!! (unless you have traction issues, then it's trial and error time ).
I've got a few buddies with LT1's (2 A4's, 2 M6's) and only 1 of them has OFFICIALLY run 13's (a '97 Z28 M6, bone stock, 13.8 on streets, 13.7 w/DR's). Then a '95 Z28 A4, w/3.73's ran a 14.0 @ ~98, but on his 2nd run the time slip blanked out the 1/4 time & speed (was looking better all along than the 14.0 run, so probably a ~13.8 or 13.9). The other '97 Z28 M6 has run several 14.0 / 14.1's, but a '96 TA A4 has only gotten around ~14.5 @ 96 mph .
Best of luck with it . Have fun!!
