my "Stock" LT1 SS times

i ran at the track a few days ago (full race weight, no jack spare or floor matts), had a little trouble on street tire but it wasnt too bad , but i know i shoulda been in the 13s except the driver is a little bulky at about 220
(this is without headers and shift kit, making a good base run for comaprison)
this is the best i could do , i had to leave cuz my budd f-ed up his car

R/T... .868
60'.... 2.186
330.... 6.071
1/8.... 9.227
mph.... 78.12
1000....11.943
1/4......14.239
mph..... 98.30

This is my better run even tho i redlighted and doesnt count this is what i ran , only diff thing i did was a slightly longer burnout and no air filter, caught about 2/10s , i coulda been in the 13s but i let off at the end cuz redlighting and i didnt think it counted (hence y my mph is slower but i ran faster??)

R/T... .219
60'.... 2.107
330.... 5.942
1/8.... 9.081
mph.... 78.63
1000....11.792
1/4......14.091
mph..... 97.47

what do u think for a stock Lt1 SS?
2.1 60' was prolly the best I could get out of street tires, if i could get a 2.0 13s woulda been mine . Drs would put me there easily

Not too bad. 60' kept you outta the 13s for sure. Long tubes should throw you into the 13.6-13.7 range.

thanks man ,
i was just wondering what ppl think for being teh second time at the track ever,
i mean it is an auto but i seem to be learning and def can do better

is my filter that restrictive that it held me back 2/10s (it was not even dirty) or is it just coincidence i did better?

i was getting my 60's down everytime i went up . so it coulda been learning that helped me out

Re: my "Stock" LT1 SS times

Not bad at all for stock times man. Bone stock I couldn't get my car outta the mid-14's. Probably partly do to my horrible launching on street tires. Drag radials, CAI, and cat-back and I was running high 13's with a best of 13.7 @ 102. Added my MAC headers/y-pipe and new clutch and squeezed out the times in the sig. Still can't launch for ****, even with DR's I've never gotten less than a 2.1 60'. Hopefully one of these days I'll get the launch down to where it's supposed to be and finally hit 12's. And if I can't fix the launch, I'll just mod it some more.

Good job, I ran about the same at our crappy track here in Redding a couple weeks ago when all I had was my K&N.

JMO, you won't need slicks until you have a converter and gears. I ran on street tires until I got the converter. I always nailed a 2.0 60' with decent track prep. Now I have a 3200 stall and 3.73s and I run E/T streets. Hooks up real nice. E/T Streets will probably hurt you more than help you at this point. If you went with a good drag radial you'll be good for a long time.

thanks man i was thinking of just getting some used nittos or somthign for now, i am getting a converter sometime so that would help

any reason y my car would bogg down when doing a burnout , i do not have traction control?
maybe b/c of teh track prep??

Really nice stock times, Was the filter pretty dirty? usually a clean factory filter removed is worth a tenth.

Re: my "Stock" LT1 SS times

Get some BF DR's for the 16's...and just switch them on for the track, it'll extend the life of your street tires also...You have to heat the **** outta nittos for a good 60, as long as your only using the dr's for the strip go BF's, better tire for strip then nittos

Pretty decent times for a "stock" SS. I dont think its stock when it rumbles like yours though

Headers, tune, E-WP, ASP Pulley, no cat, traction, 2800 stall and your set for low 13's high 12's...lets see what bank are you knocking over for 12's?
