new 1/4 times 2.73s -> 3.73s

took her to the drags tonight at island drags in NJ. My previous best was...
R/T ..431
60’ 2.218
330’ 6.189
1/8 9.405
MPH 76.73
1000’ 12.138
¼ 14.461
MPH 97.36
with just an SLP CAI.

I added the 3.73s and no tune to go along with it and my 3 runs were...

R/T .543
60’ 2.199
330’ 6.039
1/8 9.253
MPH 75.89
1000’ 12.049
¼ 14.391
MPH 96.64

R/T .479
60’ 2.225
330’ 6.068
1/8 9.246
MPH 76.94
1000’ 11.992
¼ 14.301
MPH 97.78

R/T .342
60’ 2.166
330’ 5.953
1/8 9.107
MPH 77.32
1000’ 11.845
¼ 14.137
MPH 98.76

each run was on my skinny sumitomo 245s as well as banging off the rev limiter at the top of 2nd gear and passing 115,000 miles. I'm getting closer to that 100 mph club! I swear if it wasnt for the rev limiter I would have been there. I bet a pcmforless tune will put me there. Launching with the 3.73s is quite a bit different than with the 2.73s, but I came pretty close to my previous best 60' time of 2.129.

Your 60's are pretty bad, get em where they should be and your times will be looking up to par

well, the only way I can do that is with a set of slicks or drag radials.
I didn't think my last 60' time was that bad considering im running 3.73s with worn 245/50/ZR16 tires.

I'm kind of curious what is causing my car to hit the rev limiter from the 2 to 3 shift. I hope a PCM tune will cure it.

tune will cure it, but funny thing is when i went from 2.73 to 3.73 my stock tune shifted perfectly fine

I also gained 2.5 tenths and almost 2 full mph

get those 60's down might not be in the 100 mph club but you will be in the 13's club.

100 mph club isnt to wondeful if you dont have a 60' to go with it
im bone stock with nothing but a cut out on my 96 z

had a 2.3 60'
and ran a 14.068
at 102 mph!

Seems like when I switched to a 3.73 from a 2.73 I had problems. The tune fixed it.

Are you shifting manually or letting it do the 1 to 2 shift?

I just leave it in 3rd when I raced.

funny thing is I let my buddy drive the car. he has never drag raced before, EVER. he ran a 14.38 @ 99 with a 2.4 60'. I was pissed that he had ran a faster mph than me, but happy to see it go that high. Then I ran my 3rd and final run and beat him by nearly 3/10ths and came within .3 mph of him.

I guess now would be the good time to get the pcm out and reprogrammed since I have her up on blocks with no exhaust manifolds on and some headers waiting to be put on FOR SURE I WILL BE IN THE 100 MPH CLUB NOW!!

i have 2.73's right now, going to 3.73's in a few weeks hopefully, i was hopin it'd get my 95 z28 in the 13.3 range, it averages 13.7's in the 80+ degree weather

whats the biggest gain anyone has got with drag radials after changing to 3.73's from 2.73's?
