PA K-member update
Ref previous thread:
previous thread
I finally had some time to start installing the PA k-member.
I'll finish bolting it up tonight, but I've already discovered a problem with the drivers side motor mount pad. They dont leave you **** for room to get a bolt much less a nut in the bottom hole. The main tube runs directly under the hole. I ended up using a 1" long bolt from the top and shaved (with a grinder) a little off one side of the nut, to get the bolt to thread in correctly from the top. The bolt and nut still were not exactly straight in the hole, but they did pull down OK when I torqued the mount down. Here's a couple of pics of the mounting point to help explain:

I also wasnt too happy that the k-member came with no additional bolts or nuts, since the motor mount pads were not threaded (like the stock k-member). No instructions (or warnings) either.
Do I still think the PA k-member was worth the money? Yea, probably so (assuming I dont run into any more install problems) - I'm pretty cheap. But I can see how the BMR with it's integral drivers side motor mount (bottom half of the mount anyway), could be worth an additional $80 or so, to avoid the PITA of finding a way to make the PA mounting pad work. Well, I suppose if you add up the $10 I spent on bolts and the 1/2hour I spent at ACE hardware, the BMR gets more attractive all the time.
