New Wheels and Tires Shot #1

Here is another one.

New Wheels and Tires Shot #2

Not to bad at all.

These are 15x10 Draglites, the tires are Hoosiers 26x10x15. They are screwed to the wheel and not running any tubes in them. I had to install longer wheels studs to get them to work.

Looks good Ken!!

Did you have any problem with the wheel studs in the front being too short?

Looks really good.

How much did they weigh vs your previous tire/rim combo? Were you running stock before?

Have you gotten a new ET/MPH with your new tire/rim combo? If you have, how much did you lose if any?

Again, looks damn good.

Grover - The fronts got replaced as well, the stock ones are way to short.

The Draglites are about 15lbs for the wheel and about 16-17lbs for the tire. I had stock wheels with ET Streets mounted on them. That was about 40lbs or more for that setup. I use to have ZR1 front wheels on them a long time ago.

CantonRacer - So far with this setup I ran a best of 12.40@108, that's in 90 degree heat and somewhat low barometer and 70% humidity.
The best time is in my signature, thats on a very cool night high 50's to low 60's when that happened. I can't wait for the cooler weather.
At least it does not appear that I lost any MPH from the ET Streets to this tire. Not to sure on my 60' time yet, I will be going to the track next Friday to see the 60' times, but I suspect they are in the 1.7's right now.

My 15x10 Prostars w/ 28x13.5 Hoosher QTP's weighted in at 37lbs a tire. I was a little disappointed.

Car looks good man!

I also run Hoosiers on Draglites without tubes. I marked the valve stem on the tire with some shoe polish. After about 30 or so runs the mark had moved about 2 inches from the stem. I've screwed the tire to the rim now. Since I don't have tubes there no chance of damaging a tube but if the tire slips that much it's going to start changing the balance.

Ken

Did you have to do any other changes to get them to fit? I heard something about the calipers.

Ken, Looks good bro. I am going the exact same route with my wheel and tire combo. Can you give me more details about the studs? I alreay picked up a set of 15x3.5's for the front and am curently looking for a set of 15x10's for the rear. What size studs and lugs did you use? And where did you get them from? Id rather not try running that combo on stock studs if they are that much too short. Any info you can give would be greatly apreciated... oh and whats the BS on the rears and are you using a spacer or not?

Looks nice Ken.

Here's mine.

Hey Wicked - Did you have fun clearancing the rear for the 28 x 13.5 Hoosiers? Took a lot of "Hammer Time", a jig saw, and sawzal to get mine to tuck under without slicing the 28 x 13.5 MT ET's

Could you let me know what size studs you used for the front and what lug nuts were used? Also, how many screws per wheel did you use?
Thanks for the info.
Matt

Stock stud size except longer.
Get the GM PN# 22551491 that should do the trick, ARP makes one that is not as long.
I used Welds Shank style lugnuts 12mmx1.5 open ended, this is the Jegs number 927-601-1422, sad thing is that they come 4 to a package.
I put on 8 screws per side of the wheel (16) total per wheel.
