quarter mile
Went to the drag strip first this year. After a couple passes I could only pull off a 14.6503 in the quarter-mile. My speed was 95.64 MPH. MY 60 FT time was 2.3893- I was spinning all the way through first and half of second gear. I have 3.73's in an open rear end and am running radial tires, any suggestions? I think if i could get traction of the line that I would be in the 13's.

You may find more answers in the Drag Racing forum, so I'll move this for ya.
A little more information would also help in making suggestions as to how to improve your 60' times - specificly, what kind of transmission and, if it's an auto, torque converter rating too.
If you're spinning, use less throttle. And, as has been said before, get a posi, and sticky tires.

What would the advantages be if I purchases a mini spool! Does the same thing right? As for tires does anybody make good sticky tires that would mount on a set of 14x7 rallye wheels. Mickey Thompson E.T. Streets of BF Drag radials! Thanks JOn

i don't think mini spools are legal at the track, plus they REALLY suck on the street because the outside tire squeels around corners and when parking. Just get a decent posi, and some mickey thompson et streets.
