Wink Slow TA/ to quicker TA

Hey fellows. I went to the track a few months ago and ran a best of 9.3ET in the 1/8th at 80mph.60ft were 2.4

Well you guys thought that something was wrong with me lol. And my car seemed slow. So i got the mod bug and wanted it to run with the rest of stock f-bodys and got 3:42s and the computer tuned for firmer shifts.(It feels so much faster now. It even spins through 2nd gear

So now im wondering about how much i should be able to take off my et.
I know that my 60ft sucks but i swear that it didn't even spin launching, it bogged down when it shifted to 2nd. Everyone here told me 2:73s and a converts weight = suck

2002 Trans am Convert A4 with (2:73s(not any more)

Depends on if you can actually hook up. Your new gears may make launching worse... Add a set of drag radials or borrow a set to try them out and give it a shot.

He also may want to look into some lower control arms, them with dr's did wonders for me.

Yes I doubt it spun. 9.3 is roughly 14.3 in the 1/4 mile and I would guess 80 would be close to 102-103mph in the 1/4 mile.

I'd say you're in the solid 13's with 3.42's and a shift kit. Did you take any weight out yet? Spare tire/jack/backseat/front sway bar? A spare set if stock 16" rims with M/T Radials would keep traction a non-issue until you make another 100hp+. Converter/gears/Tires is where you'll find the most ET reduction. Goodluck!

Nope I didn't think to take out the spare tire and jack.

I realy didn't know what i was missing before i got the 2:73s out of there.
I keep letting my friends drive it to see if they notice a difference. The look on their faces are priceless. Traction will diffently be a problem now.

Steps in the right direction with good results always keep a smile on the face. You, my friend, have been bitten by the bug.

def. do something with that 60' time. you should be in the low-mid 13's with a good 60' of 1.8 or 1.9.

Try doing different launches. i.e. stalling the converter, flashing the converter, lowering the tire pressure.

Take all the crap outta the trunk... you could remove the front sway bar if you want.

LCA's and a small set of drag radials would do wonders. get a set of salad shooters and throw a set of m/t drag radials on it and you should be set.
