solid motor mounts - solid trans mount???
I'm considering going with solid motor mounts, but I'm curious as to what tranny mount I need to run. Some people say I need to go with a rubber or poly tranny mount and others say I need to run a solid tranny mount if I'm running solid motor mounts.
Right now I'm running a poly trans mount.
Any thoughs on which type tranny mount I should run with solid motor mounts? And why....
Thanks

I am running a poly trans mount with my Moroso solid mounts. Moroso suggests that you use a solid trans mount with solid motor mounts but they do not make one for our cars. I have not had any problems with the poly trans mount.

I was running the poly trans mount with solid motor mounts before I swapped 1 poly motor mount in on the driver's side.

I ran solid on both. Since I converted to a front motor plate, I need to switch to a poly tranny mount so that I don't break the tailshaft on the tranny.
It's best to always use a poly tranny mount. Very few people need the solid tranny mount.
It all depends on how much chassis twist you have. If only the front left wheel comes off the ground when you launch then the chassis is twisting and a poly mount should be used. If both front wheels come off the ground equally then a solid mount is fine.
The poly mount is more forgiving and will lessen the chance of breaking the tailshaft housing.
