A Stupid 1/4/ Trap Question

For the guy putting down around 700rwhp and 800rwtq... assuming they have some traction. What kind of times/traps are they getting?

Those are the numbers I'm hoping for... I'm hoping for 10.50s @ 133 or so. Think that's possible?

6 speed, 4:10s in rear, Direct Port Nitrous shot getting from a motor that put down 430/415 on it's lonesome. Assume I can drive. Car is in full trim.

What you run is gonna be decided by what traction you get and how well you drive it. What shot are you running? I'm guessing 250-300HP.

When HP gets that high, your ET is all in the chassis. I assume you have a 12 bolt and slicks.

9", GeForce Tranny and slicks will be used. I'm saying... I am just looking for a guestimate to see if my goals are realistic.

I'm going direct port, but i'm gonna keep jetting til 700/800 hits... So a 250 or whatever.

Actually, about 475 RWHP ought to get you to 10.50's if I did the numbers right. I'm not sure you will be in the 130's though.

At full weight, he'll need a LOT of traction to get mid 10's with that horsepower. Then again, it sounds like he has a lot of traction.

700hp and slicks on a full weight car... I'm thinking high 9's and in the 130s.

You think 700rwhp could yield high 9s? Full trim and all? Assuming I had traction and whatnot?

Re: A Stupid 1/4/ Trap Question

Really depends on total race weight. High 9's needs a lot more HP pushing 4000 pounds than it does to push 3000 pounds.

I tip the scales somewhere around 3000 pounds. I need to get over a scale soon this year to know the exact weight. I'm getting high 9's right now. My power to weight ratio says I'm getting about 670hp to the wheels but that's just a guess based on last years race weight. If the car is heavier this year then I'm making more HP.

If ya hook it and don't stand it on the bumper ya should run low 9's high 8's with it.
Fix the car to where it's safe and can certify for that speed.

Wow... that's really enlightening to hear! I was hoping for 10.50s @ 132 or so! So... I am looking at a possible 138 trap speed?! That would be awesome! 700rwhp and 800rwtq... gonna be a lot of fun!

Damn... I can't wait to run the car now. Won't be done for a little bit since I need to save up for the Direct Port plumbing and whatnot but it's gonna be sick!

Re: A Stupid 1/4/ Trap Question

Should run more than 138.
There are guys with right at 500RWHP running 9.8's with a 32/3300lb car. Yours will be about 35/3600 with 200 more RWHP.

I don't think low/mid 9's are a problem. Just drive it like ya stole it and put some of them training wheels that hang out the back. Along with some laundry to stop it. Leave with your foot on the mat and sidestep the clutch, and hang on 'cause ya goin to go for a ride.

Dude you are putting huge smiles on my face... hahahahaha!!

I plan on running Wilwood Brakes because I drive the car daily. Little extra weight which sucks... but I need the stopping power!

Dude... if I hit a 9.9 @ close to 140... that would be my dream. 140 trapping street car... dude! haha
