Depends on the power and suspension. My 60's are from 1.58-1.63 depending on weather. I run 15.5 pounds of air. I use 28" x 12.5 x 15" ET Streets. Unless something is severely wrong I always hook.

I know a lot of guys running less air than myself. I try and have as much air in the tire that will hook to reduce rolling resistance at the top end and to help keep my reaction time consistent.

i run mine around 12 psi... im running the 26 x10.5 15s and they dont really hook too well with more air pressure. but be careful if you run them that low, i already spun mine on the rim.

VEHICLE WEIGHT TIRE SIZE AIR PRESSURE
2,500 TO 3,000 UNDER 30" 8 P.S.I. AND UP
2500 to 3000 over 30" 6 psi and up
OVER 3,000 UNDER 30" 16 P.S.I. AND UP
OVER 3,000 OVER 30" 10 P.S.I. AND UP

That is what M/T recommends. Many people think that very low pressure is the way to go, according to M/T it isnt.

I don't know where MT is coming from. On my 4,100lb race weight car best results are 12-13psi. Could be that isn't safe, but it's what I have been running. That's one reason for the tubes and rim screws . Best 60' to date is 1.54sec. MT also says a "light haze" instead of a smokey burnout, and that's also wrong, IMHO.
