Post Went to the track again.

Well I went to the track and came back a bit disapointed...
My best run was a 12.9 at 107 with a 1.993 60' at 70* and 75% Humidity. The track was not prepared well at all, someone had an oil leak, etc.
I had 60'times in the 2.0-2.2 range all night!

A couple thoughts and concerns...
I added subframes since last time I went....is the car too tight? It didnt want to hook as well this time

I lowered my tire PSI from 26 last time to 20 this time, would that account for my MPH drop?

I raised my shift points from last time I went and my car feels a great bit faster than before but my MPH didnt budge???

Im thinking that maybe Im getting alot of knock on the top end. With the cutout open my car is extremely loud. Maybe Ill disarm the knock sensor next time....

What kind of tires are you running? I think you need to try some et streets then you could knock those 60' times and run alot faster. What kind of converter and gear are you running? My car runs 12.50's @107mph with a 1.74 60' so that is what you are missing. I ran on et streets and with 3.23's. I think the reason your mph changed is b/c of different weather conditions. Later clint

What was the baraometer like?
A lower baraometer would effect it greater than humidity would. What you need to do is to find out the DA (Density Altitude) for the day that you run. This will give you a good indication on how much HP you will have for the night.
Typically you want a high baro, low temp and low humidity. There is a bunch of calculaters on the net that you can plug the values in and it will tell you the DA.
Here is one http://rshelq.home.sprynet.com/calc_da.htm
Play around with it...

As for track prep, that can play a role in it as well.

With your mods something is definately not right unless you are at a really high elevation.

What kind of density altitude is best?

Ken, that is a great link.
