what do you guys think about these times

i took my T/A to the track last night. mods are all in my sig. i was running 40 psi in some summer street tires, lol. anyways the car was pretty consistent, but i know if i could hook that would really help, also the car could use a better clutch. anyways heres my best run.

60'...2.536
330...6.455
1/8...9.568
MPH...79.84
1000...12.202
1/4...14.434
MPH...101.46

the best 60' i cut all night was a 2.43 which i ended up with a 14.518 at 100.1 MPH.

out of the 8 times i raced i had prolly 6 solid passes all around 14.4-14.5 at 100-101. my dad even raced and turned slightly slower but pretty similar. overall it was extremely consistent. what do you guys think i could pull off with some Nittos?

also my old Z-28 which was mostly stock, i turned a 14.1 at 99 with a 2.2 60', so how much is that launch holding me back?

any input is awesome.

Put on some better tires and see what it can do then. Once you get your traction issue addressed, 13s obviously aren't a problem. Which track were you running at?

Re: what do you guys think about these times

i was running at Great Lakes Dragaway. i was really happy with the consistency but i just thought the pull this car has with the headers should have still easily beat my camaros times even with bad 60's. but i need new tires so im just gonna go with some 275 Nittos in the back. i already have a clutch just need to get it rebuilt. think a solid clutch and 2.0 60' will get me 13.5?

Here, check this out:

97 Trans Am timeslips

That will give you a rough idea of times and what some of the baisc mods will do for you. The 60' is what you are after. The rest of the track performance is built off of that.

Basically your launch is wasting a minimum of half a second and that usually translates into more depending on the other variables. My guess is that since I was running 13.5's at that mph probably you should also..., depending on all the other variables of course.

yea i am thinking the car should be good for a 13.5 with a 2.0 60'. it kept up with 2 different LS1s that night. both had full exhaust and bolt ons EXCEPT headers. they were spinning badly off the line like i was then once we got a little past 60' it was dead even the whole time so im pretty happy with that.
