12-Bolt question

Ok so here's my question, if I get a 12-bolt out of an ls1 car can I just bolt it into my lt1 car? Is it the same dementions? Anything else I should look for?

I believe the back braking plates are pointed towards the rear of the car on the LT1 and its the opposite on a LS1..Besides that I think they are the same..

So basically it would work as long as I got new backing plates then right?

as far as a moser 12 bolt goes.. the LT1 uses a 1/8 inch shim that is pressed onto the axle and the LS1 doesn't

i put an Ls1 rear-end in the back of my 95 Z28 and you need to get the Ls1 brakes because the emergency is like a drum brake on the inside of the rotor. You would need Ls1 rotors, emerg brake cables, calipers, emerg. brake cables because they also use different brackets for the emerg brake. But it really isn't that bad if you find an Ls1 rear-end at the right price and i like the emerg brake setup better anyway.
