1996 camaro z28 6spd clutch fork problems
So im trying to do a clutch change on my Z. I disconnected everything and the trans wont come off. I kept hearing about the fork. The end of the fork is a inch or two outside the 2 inch gap between the trans and bell housing, i figured i need to pull it out but it wont give. It wiggles and such. Does the trans need to be leveled specifically, lined up as if i was gonna connect the trans back up, pull harder? Idk, and if any of those is right, could i get more details on it-like if i need to pull harder:would it be easier to pull it with a specific tool etc. thx

Also all of thr bolts are out of the trans the forks are the only thing holding this thing up... The fork wont budge at all would we need to bolt it back up to get the forks off?

Push the trans back against the bell housing. If you removed the bell housing to engine bolts, make sure the bell housing is against the engine. Pull the fork straight out from the trans. It will slide out some but remain attached to the trans. That will slide it off the throw out bearing allowing you to remove the trans.

^^^^ you pull the fork before you pull the trans back. "IF" it won't come off pull back trans 1/4" from bell housing and pull off. If tranny is back further the fork will jam against TO bearing and be very hard, if not impossible, to slide off TO bearing
