2800 stall already, upgrade to 3200 or 3400?
My times/mods are in my sig below. I've been thinking before I do a set of heads that I'd like to crack the 11 second mark with stock unported heads first. It'll take me a good part of the winter since to hit those times I'll need some ideal weather.
Right now I can cut low 1.7's with ease and 1.6's aren't usually a problem. After adding on the ET Streets the car seems to bog some out of the whole, even with them set at 20psi. It still cuts 1.7's, but doesn't launch as hard. Nitto's are out of the question b/c I spin too easily w/ them now.
I've got a free restall with my Vigilante and am going to step up this month. Given what I've got and my goals (remember I'll be throwing heads on it soon, I'm looking at the big picture), should I go for a 3200 (not much of a jump) or a 3400 stall?

I ran the slp 2800 stall for a couple of years and really could tell no difference compared to factory. I upgraded to a yank 3500 and you can imagine the difference. Iwould go 3500, its not too bad on the street, besides gas consumption. A friend of mine has a 383 with a procharger and L480 trans and he told me he thought that was to high and i would lose driveability. I took him for a ride and three weeks later, he had a 3500. One of the best things that i have done besides the 3.73s.

O.K. Javier... This is just from my personal expierience. I ran the Vig3200 with the Hot Cam on stock heads to a best of 12.30 @ 110 mph at 3600# race weight with consistant 12.30 - 12.39's @ 109ish. Then I put in an FLP level 4 trans with a Vig3600 on the same set up and could only get a best of 12.48 @ only a best of 107 mph.... My set up just does not like the Vig3600. I went from a best 60' on the 3200 of 1.64 to a 1.61 on the Vig3600 stall. Now with the GTP stage 2 heads I can only get a 12.28 @ 111.11 with this Vig3600. I just think it is too much stall for my low powered LT1 to push through going down the track. It is almost like the car hits a wall in the middle of a run then at the traps starts to pull again. I AM going back to the Vig3200 stall. Then I truely believe if I ever run the car at the track again with the Vig3200 that I will crack 11's....
Now this is just my results with the Vig3600 and you can take if for what you want. Just giving you info. Now I have seen a couple guys running the YankST3500 and it seems to be real efficiant. If I had the $$ I would like to try it but I can only afford to have mine re-stalled...
Good Luck to you Javier.

Javier I did the Vig3600 upgrade and felt that the car was not pulling downtrack. I have since switched back to Vig3200 and am very pleased. I have stockheads and a Crane 210/224 cam NA and have had a 1.48 60ft. best at 3400#s. Last Saturday night in the heat, thru mufflers I had a 1.53.My car is very streetable and gets good gas milage on the highway.(this is not a stock eliminater car) My vote for a Lt1 is Vig3200.

I'm just wondering, but maybe would a ~3200 stall be better for an LT1, vs. a ~3600 would probably suit an LS1 better since LS1's have more top end? Just a thought!
