'95 z28 transmission help

so i just bought a '95 z28 w/o a transmission in it. the guy said it had a t55 in it so i've been looking and can't seem to find one to put back in it, i keep seeing t56's. should i go with a t56 or would it be just as easy to just put a 4l60e in it?
any help would be greatly appreciated!

The stock manual trans in the 4th Gen F-Body V8's is the Borg-Warner/Tremec T56. For your 95, you can use one from a 94-97 Camaro or Firebird. 93 is weaker, has different gear ratios. 98-02 has a different length input shaft, bell housing and clutch slave cylinder.
