C5 Z06 trans question, will it bolt up to LS1???

I am needing to know if you have a Corvette Z06, is it possible to take off the transmission from the car and bolt it to the LS6 block. The reason I ask is because the transmission, as you all know, is mounted in the rear of the car. I have an 86 RX7 that I am thinking about buying a totaled Z06 and using the motor and transmission out of it. Is that possible to do, or do I have to find a Camaro or Firebird T-56 to use witht the Z06 motor? Or if I would have have to find a Camaro T-56 bellhousing and then bolt that on the Z06 transmission? And finally can you just mount the Z06 trans on the LS6 and be done? Any help in answering my question or letting me know where to look would help me out greatly

It's not like a normal transmission mounted backwards...it's a trans-axle. If you were going to incorporate it into another car, you'd need to swap the whole drivetrain and make quite a few modifications. If you're going to throw an LS6 in something, you're probably better off going with a T-56 out of an f-body.
