Question Clutch, Flywheel or both?

I have a 1998 Z28 w/ M6. I replaced my clutch 3 years ago with a Spec stage 1. Earlier this year someone drove my car that is not the most experienced with driving a stick and they chose to drive the car through rush hour.

Anyways, not long after I noticed a slipping anytime I get above 3k RPM quickly. If I let it slip it will smell pretty good. Any idea if I am looking at clutch, flywheel or both? Trying to budget for the repair and order parts ahead of time.

I think you just need the clutch but I would look at a Monster kit that has clutch/flywheel/slave and also look into the Tick master cylinder. That wont be cheap but it's the right way to go. Or like I said you could get away with just the clutch and add the Tick MC later down the line. GL!

Sorry about that. Missed the drivetrain forum. Thanks for the relocation.

Also, last time I chose to just do flywheel and clutch (once transmission was dropped saw that the flywheel was glazed over pretty good). A couple weeks down the road my slave cylinder crapped out and I had to replace it. I heard someone say you should replace the slave cylinder everytime you do the clutch. Is that true?
