Question Cost of T56 swap??

My A4 is about on its last leg so I figured if I wanted an M6 now would be the time to do it. About how much am I looking to spend? I dont have the tools or the knowledge to do this myself so add that into the formula. Also what else is needed to do this swap besides the T56 and a different center console? Thanks!

you will need new console, pedals, clutch, a reservoir, im not sure on the transmission lengths, but probably a different drive shaft. I think you can buy most of what you need for about $1500, i saw a thread on that the other day. And i cant imagine the labour on that job

bout $1500-1800 for parts. then u'll need your pcm reflashed with the m6 code. then misc stuff like trans fluid and such. people said they've done the conversion in less than 12 hours i think. I'd set aside a weekend for it. of course you can also sell your old trans and parts swapped to make up some of the cost.

the driveshaft is the same, but it does get a different yoke. i did mine with all new parts.tranny 93 model made for the 323 gears, clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, bolts for bellhousing to engine, crossmember, cat mounting bracket, you can use your a4 tranny mount, vss pigtail, rev lockout pigtail, reverse light pigtail, clutch start switch,i hooked up my cruise release with a jumper harness, clutch hydraulics, u-bolt for master cyl., if you get a new tranny it will come with the clutch fork.hmmmm, im sure there is more small parts but i cant remember them right now. i bought every part a piece at a time, took me one and onehalf years, be sure to get a helms manual all of the wiring diagrams are in there.probobly around 3 large if you get all new stuff.

I got every single part needed to swap a T56 in for my 4L60E for $1000 from a close friend. We're also doing all the labor at minimal cost...
