This may sound stupid
Hey guys any input on taking out a 6 speed out of a 97 Z28? My main question is how the heck are you suppose to take the bellhousing bolts out this sucker? I've got the crossmember and everthing taken out, and dropped the tailend of the trans down a good 8 to 10 inches from the stock location..
But now here's my delema, the driver side bolts have a total of an 1 1/2 clearance from the firewall and every swivel socket that I have just wont get to this sucker... Thanks for any help you can give me

A long extension (2-3 feet) works for me, maybe with a wobble on the end too. It allows you to do most of the work from behind the trans. Usually helps if you have a friend line them up and the other turns the ratchet. If you think the M6 is bad...try the A4! I hate the drivers side!

I dont have an m6 but my clearence is also terrible. I had to use wrenchs, not sockets, to get at most of the bolts. For the top to bolts you should jack the tranny back up and get at them from inside the car behind the intake manifold. Once your arms get used to bending in different ways it will be easy, you just have to get used to working on these cars.
Just some ideas.

Hey thanks guys, this is the first F body car I've owned... Use to old metal where you can drive a bus through I was just crapin my pants thinking I'd have to drop the front section out to do this...I've just never had anything fight me as bad as this sucker, but It'll be worth it in the end..
Thanks again
