My Clutch?

So I'm goign down a road, and come up to a stop sign, i begin to downshift, and its near impossible to get it into gear. As i stop, it wants to die, and the clutch isnt as far out as usual. O great, i blew my clutch! Not true evidently. It died, off to the side of the road, and i put it in 3rd and started it (after trying the first 2 gears) it wouldnt start unless i had the gas down some, and itd start going, so I drove it home in 3rd. What the hell is up with this thing? I've heard its possibly a Slave/Master cylinder gone out. Thatd be nice, and cheaper than a new clutch, but I gotta look at it, thats not til tomorrow. What do you guys think now?

Based on what you are saying, I'd guess that it would have something to do with the clutch hydraulics. Obviously the clutch itself is OK if you can drive in 3'rd. If the car stalls as you slow down, it would indicate that the clutch is not releasing. You need to buy the clutch master I have listed over in the fs section.
