we are 4th gens!

the rears hold up fine till you start making over 400hp or run slicks

even with slicks some have had no problems...

I think, and this is my theory, that some people will break but ya never get the whole story.. Just something like "got slicks and broke the rear end"

It comes from the fact that when you break something you feel the urge to tell the world.. but rarely do you have this coversation " Hey! hows it going" - " fine, u" - " all good.." - "ohh wait did I tell ya the news?" - "no what?" - "I havent broken anything" - "ya, me either"

Now I can see the previous conversation happening btw two people and one always having had broken something as a joke.. but in everyday conversation its not likely..

and yes.. 1993-2002 are the 4th generation..

!!!

I'm having my 4.10's/TA Cover/Zexel Posi all put in this weekend and will be throwing a 375RWHP motor in front of it. I expect ZERO problems even with my 6-speed. No slicks/DR for me though.

He's just saying they are fairly reliable just going about it the long way. It's just you dont hear about when someone doesn't break only when they do, and the thing at the end is just making sure you know that lt1's and ls1's are both 4th gens. 5th gens aren't out yet.

I have a 94 Z28 M6 with cai, headers, 52mm TB, and some SLP SS Exhaust. I also had drag radials on (with stock gearing) and I blew the stock differential back in September. The ring and pinion were fine though.

Last week I had 1BAD86Z install a US Gear ring and pinion (4.10), Eaton differential, and a TA Cover. Hoping this will stay together for a while with my minimal power. If it breaks again, it breaks. Some have good luck, others have bad luck. If it breaks again though, I will save for something bulletproof. Although I am going to go easy on it for a while...

I am also putting in some relocation brackets and control arms when I put the rear back in (I took it out for him to work on)
