Need some advice on Clutch/Tranny
Changed the clutch assembly a week ago to a Macleod
Car runs good but the problem is their is a quite noticeable heat coming from beneath the handrest and the shifter. It's not a burning heat but I can feel it with my hand on the shifter.
what can it be and what should I check/do about it
thanks to all in advance
Alex

Re: Need some advice on Clutch/Tranny
Did you replace your tranny fluid while you were under the there? Could be excess heat not being disapated by the fluid (cus its old) becuase of the extra friction heat caused by the Mcloud? Just a thought, i could be totaly wrong. How hot is "hot" becuase there is a significant amount more of friction with these setups then stock, friction = heat.

by hot I mean the temp that you still can hold on to the shifters metal stick with your hand but a bit more wouldn't be too cofortable
motor running not too hot + 160 stat is in and working
fluid have been checked but not replaced - it is probably old ~60k on it (will be changed on the weekend to R.P. syntech)
the shifter boot was ripped a bit because of the hurst shifter that wasn't fitting in the stock boot
thanks to everyone

Re: Need some advice on Clutch/Tranny
OK
checked the fluid and it Sims to be in the good quantity
Kind of got used to the heat by now but their is another problem
in the first gear upon the slow releasing about 3/4 of the way the whole car starting to shake really noticeably. If I release it fast the problem does not occur.
at first I though the clutch is wearing in, but it was almost a month and good 2K since it was changed. (oh yea the flywheel was machined before reinstalling).
the way it goes right now I already think that I'll have to change the clutch in the next half a year
