Poly Transmission Mount

I was considering getting a polyurethane transmission mount to stiffen up the car. They are cheap, but some people have told me they cause really bad rattles. How much worse are vibrations and rattles with this mount? Should i get it?

Well I broke the stock one very quickly, the poly has held up fine and not rattled anymore I dont think. I think its a very good investment for you. I would highly recomend it. :P

Good luck with that

I agree it is worth it, The viberations are not that bad at all.. you get used to them, Once I added my alum driveshaft and SFC's I dont even feel it anymore ...

My experience has been that M6 cars get a bit more vibration, A4 cars get a lot more vibration. I ran one in my M6 for about 20K miles until I read a post about it throwing off the driveshaft angle (they designed for 3rd Gen spacing, not fourth Gen). I went with the 1LE mount which I believe is the only one available from GM now. Stiffer than the stock one that came in my 95 and doesn't mess with the geometry. I've got a used one for sale if someone really wants one.

Were you planning on getting donut motor mount and cadillac shocks ? .... didnt think so .... you drive a race car !!!.... it should come with poly mounts .. hahahaha I broke 2 stock ones in a short amount of time. Ever since the poly mounts went in everything has been fine with no problems at all. I think it should be the next thing you do !!!

Poly tranny mounts aren't that bad. I broke 4 before i finally bought a poly one. Vibrations aren't that bad at all.

agreed with above...get it.

i put mine on along with poly motor mounts and a poly torque arm mount. i noticed very little increase in vibration. and what i did notice....i honestly don't mind...considering how much tighter the car feels.

the times i notice the increased firmness is when i let the revs drop a bit too much, like when backing up and i don't give it enough gas. and i can notice it a bit at idle...

I tried a poly mont, and as soon as I got back from the test drive I ordered a stock one. The vibrations were unbearable. I know its not a mercedes or anything, but my whole car turned into a rattle trap.

Is this by chance on the highway? cuz I have a bad vibration above about 80mph & I have a poly, I never really drove the car with the stock one that fast

Stock driveshaft with gears? I have a LPE driveshaft because my car used to vibrate around 80 and after I got it the vibration went away...
