Is this rear end strong enough?

Is this rear end strong enough?
I have a link on a 8 ½” rear end from a 69 Z28 that has an auburn posi unit , strange axles, and 4:11 richmond gears. Is this rear end going to hold 500RWHP and slicks, or is this just a slight upgrade over the stock rear in terms of strength? I was also told that this rear end can be switched over to a disk brake set up for pretty cheap. Is that true, as I would like to swap my disk brakes on to it. Thanks for all the responses in advance.

It would probably be strong enough if you could make it work. First problem though, what are you going to do for a torque arm mount? I dont think a 1st gen rear is the same width as a 4th gen, pretty sure it is narrower. No ABS/TCs....

Re: Is this rear end strong enough?
The guy who has it, says he will do the install... He also told me that he put one identical to this, on a 3rd gen Z28... I have no clue when it comes to rear ends, and I am not sure if it can work.. Anyone else have any opinions if it will work.... I don't want the guy to hack my car up to make it work, or jerry rig up something so it can work....

The 8.5" 10 bolt is a pretty stout piece. I had a friend running 10 second quarters in his Chevelle making 650fwhp on Hoosiers with no problems. Making it fit into a fourth gen is another story. I'm sure a competent fabricator can fab up a TA mount and appropriate spring mounts. You've gotta also check the width. I would definitely like to see the 3rd gen car he did first...You'll know right away if its a hack job or not...Good luck...
