Reverse synchro help please!!

Ok, I'm trying to replace my reversce synchro because it keeps jumping out of reverse. So far I have the extension housing off and the first snap ring for the speedo gear. My understanding is that I need to pull the metal speedo gear off, remove the second snap ring, then remove the roller bearing along with the snap ring and spacer that are in front of it (towards back of car). Then I need to pull off the reverse gear. After that the reverse shift fork and synchro assembly. I was told all I need to do is turn the synchro around and reinstall it. Do I have to disassemble the synchro or do I just turn the whole assembly around and reinstall?
One more question....when I took my shifter out, I noticed that the cup in rear offset lever was loose. Is this a problem?
Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated

(I have posted a duplicate of this in the Drivetrain section as well to try to get as much help as possible!)

Re: Reverse synchro help please!!

Chances are you need to replace the reverse gear as well as the syncronizer as well. Flipping over the reverse gear is usually a temporary fix that comes right back. My guess is your keyway retainer is also broken.

Re: Reverse synchro help please!!

So the whole reverse synchro assembly would need to be replaced? I looked at my reverse gear and it looks good...from what I could see!

Re: Reverse synchro help please!!

You might want to try this on the "Drivetrain" forum.
