got a 98 z and finally took it out today. 1 question for you guys hope it dont sound dumb. got on the car a couple of times from a stop the first shift the car makes is crisp and hard and immediately after the shift for a spit second there is weird feel maybe like a gritty or a slight skip its hard to explain but it doesnt do it every time and only the first shift the rest are all smooth it doesnt do it during normal driving either im not really familiar with the traction control but i dont remember seeing a light. ive never had anything with this much power so i was thinking that first shift was so sharp it makes the tires spin just a little what do you guys think and do any of your cars do it? thanks

 

might just be the lag between shifts, or i suppose it could be slipping...

how many miles?

i would take it and have the fluid changed, can't hurt anything and it may just help out. that way you can eliminate that.

 

only 50000 miles i took it to the chevy dealer and a mechanic took it out. i did not turn the traction control off and he told me thats most likely what it was and he ran the hell out of it to make sure. he explained it to me how the rear starts to spin faster and a sensor slows them down. he said the car shifted fine no probs maybe it was me being retarded for not turning the ars off but im new to it. thank god it was nothing i guess when i decide to tear off next time ill turn it off
