What clutch???
I am in need of a new clutch. Well at least I hope thats what it is. Whenever I disengage the clutch under a load it makes a horrible grinding sound. Does that sound like a clutch????
Anyways, I was running nitrous but have taken the kit off and it is now for sale. I am just going to do some bolt ons and run E/T street radials sometimes. I want something that will be a good clutch with good pedal feel. I am going to be doing a engine rebuild, but by the time I get that done I will just get a new clutch.
So, I need a good clutch that will handle a bolt on car with slicks. Any suggestions???

Re: What clutch???
I am planning on going with the SPEC Stage 3 in about a month. Some people love it and some people hate it. I really wish I had the money for a McCloud twin disc but that would also mean instant death for my rear as well.

Re: What clutch???
I love the Spec III. Unless you are running a high HP combo, the Mcloed is overkill. In fact, you would probably hate to drive your car. The Spec III is great for what I have. Sucks a little in traffic and stop and go, but works great at the track.

Dont waist your time or $$ with a Spec stage 2 or 3. The sprung hubs are junk. Some people have good luck, some dont. Are you willing to take that chance. I did. It came apart. My friend did, his came apart.
Spec sold me a stage 4 for 1/2 price to replace it. I absolutely love it! Very easy to drive, and virtually no chatter. I drove to work and back the day after install. Thats miles 20-70 on a fresh cluch, in rush hour traffic. Stop and go. There was zero chatter, and it behaved beautifully! Best of all, I know for a fact that the clutch disc wont come apart because there are no frickin springs.
If you cant handle driving a fbody with a stage 4 clutch, you either need to wash the sand out of your vagina, or trade it in on a car that will better suite your driving habits, like a honda civic

Re: What clutch???
I'm going to recomend clutchnet.com clutches. not very well heard of but they actually have made very good lt1 clutched in the past. i have the 6 puck ez lock pro and it is very smooth and light. holds 650hp/tq. best clutch i have ever driven. i'm only breaking it in, but it's very easy to row the gears through the gates and it has great pedal feel. i can't wait to jump on it.
