when to upgrade rear end?

i know this topic has been beat to death, but everyone here seems to go to tracks, so i think my case is special. maybe its not. currently, my car has 0 power mods (havent been able to justify any, since its fast as hell as is). next summer i plan on getting some better tires (currently have some continental contitouringcontacts on, and they have no traction). i will also probably be doing some mods (volant intake, LT headers, and probly full exhaust), and combined with the good tires, im starting to worry for my rear end's safety. there are no tracks around here, so any hard launches would be for fun on normal pavement. I was also thinking of getting a pair of higher performance tires disregarding wear rate for any occasions that might warrant them. should i worry about my rear at this point? thanks.
