1000+ rwhp

I am aware of all of this. I know the LS platform is by far better. I know the LT platform is not as godly as the LS platform, I think most LT owners here that daily, but it is still a good platform and will be capable of my goals. I also did do my research on STS and this is what I heard but that does not matter since I will be going with a F1-A and turbo is out the door. Anyway this car and engine was my first real build up and I don't want to ditch it, I want to finish it properly. Maybe when I build up my 69 camaro rs/ss that is sitting in my dads shop, I will ditch the 396 and replace it with a built LSX bowtie and maybe a F1-R OR F2 or F2-R who the hell knows.

Nobody is trash talking you or the LT1 platform, so hopefully you don't think we are. Just an FYI, alot of the info on STS website is not correct, and they know rearmounts are inferior, thus they put a "marketing spin" on these deficiencies. Nothing wrong with a rearmount, but a front mount is optimal.

No offense taken. I am not kidding about the 69 and the LSX though. I know the LT is inferior to the LS who doesn't, so I am not offended but it is what I am working with. I could swap in a LS platform even the LSX platform but by doing the LT it will be more unique since everyone got on the LS nut train. I was under the impression that the STS kit is better since that is all I have heard but I guess it was smart to develop the kit for cars that don't have no bay space available.

A)Why not B) The turbo's do their job much better in the rear then they do in the engine bay. I think it is close to a 500 degree temp drop on the turbo's which allows them to run better and decrease if not almost eliminate lag. I also decided to go with a F-1A procharger with a large intercooler. I chose this for the obvious reason (less piping) and I can still make excellent power and possibly reach my goal. I will also be running the house of boost cog setup, which will eliminate belt slip and any other belt issues. Here is a link to another member who I am copying off, I hope ya don't mind.

Update: I talked to the rest of the vendors yesterday to get prices and to understand how everything is going to work together and what is needed to make big power and keep the engine together. I need to start ordering parts which I will be doing soon. I am putting some shelving system's together so I have somewhere to put all the parts and not on the floor. I am coming in at close to $45,000 and for that I will basically have a brand new car since everything will be brand new. I know it is high but where can you buy a car that makes 1000 hp for that price.

Well not quite...
"produces over 800HP on DYNO TO THE WHEEL so that is more than a 1000 HP to the engine."

LOL, ya I just found a quick link, but my point is you can spend 45k (and IMO) have one of the sickest cars around-> mark IV supra that's already built to the moon, can get to the 1k WHP mark, and be a reliable daily driver. Rare to even see these cars cruising on the streets anymore. Years ago, my brother had one with basic bolt-ons and that was the coolest car I've ever been in.
Fbodies are a dime a dozen now. LT1 with 45k-> if you wanted to resell you'd get less than half of that back. I'm not trying to be a hater on what you're doing, just saying there are smarter ways to use that amount of cash. If 45k comes to you easily, then obviously money is no object and I say go for it.

I tried explaining much earlier that it didn't make much sense to dump that kinda money into an LTx.

Now, just for a reality check. My car was making around 950 fwhp with a 76 mm turbo, and got into the 9's at 146 mph. EVERYTHING, including the wheels and the car, cost me right at $25k. I was a real tightwad all the way, building my own turbo setup, cage, 9" rear, TH350 tranny, engine (including all forged parts), retaining the stock ECU and fuel lines, etc... Then, when it came time to sell it, I barely got over $10k for it.

I know f-body's are a dime a dozen but how often do you see a really badass f-body. That is what I am going for. Show car looks with race car performance and track car handling. The complete package IMO. I do not plan on selling so that will not be a problem. You also get half of what you put into a Supra as well, $100,000 Supra's sell for $30 - 50,000. I have done plenty of research on Supra's and I am a member of Supraforums.com so I do know this is true. I know you are nor hatting but I want to show that f-body's are still badass cars.
