It's a pretty general question to ask, so it's hard to give specifics for an answer. Are you planning on an intercooler or water injection? Seems you would be leaving a lot on the table without cooling the intake charge if the motor is going to see 10-12 lbs. of boost. The FMU can be problematic and doesn't provide the optimum means to feed fuel to the motor in my opinion. 42lb injectors feeding a 350ci motor worked well for me with 10 lbs. of boost, but you may be maxing the duty cycle with a 383. Is your Racetronics pump a Walbro 255 or something simular to it? If so, fuel delivery may be in question at higher boost levels. A mail order tune will give you the ability to start the car and probably do a little bit of driving it around, but you should probably seriously consider getting the car on a dyno ASAP. Just a few observations from my experience. I'm sure others will have something to add.

thanks. my fuel pump is the 255 walbro which i believe should handle it. but what could i use to replace the FMU? just add an adjustable fuel regulator? also i thought people used the intercoolers to run more boost than the motor compression can handle. i know it wouldnt hurt but if i dont need it and the fact that im on a tight time and money budjet. anything else?

A custom tune-up(softwarechange in your cars computer)

A fmu will work if your tight on time and low on funds.

12# isn't a little on pump gas i would spray water/meth at the small cost of the system. It beats blowing head gaskets, motor things that will put you out for a few months. Plus you gain performance. I would also get rid of your FMU and just install regulator. As you get closer you will find a ton of sh.. that you will need ive been ordering parts for a year now and still need somethings.

well for $160 ill just buy an accufab regulator. and im not 100% on the boost yet. i sent an email to ASPracing so ill see what they can rig up for me.10psi would be plenty for now. maybe this winter ill sell my powerdyne and get a vortech or an ati.
about the alky kit, i had one on my grand national last year and it worked wonders i went from running 17psi to 23psi with no knock. so depending on what ASP comes up with for pulleys ill wait and see.

Ditch FMU go with 60psi inj. You should be on the edge with the 42's @525 to 550rwhp. either way splash in a few gallons of 100 will help

well its looks like ill have to wait 4 weeks for the ASP pulleys sol if i can find a 9psi pulley ill run that to start with. my 42#'s are almost new. if i can find someone willing to trade ill do that.
so besides what you guys have told me it should basicly be pulling the stuff of my old block and bolting it on the 383, right?
