I also ran a 383 with a T-trim. I had the Vortech 6.66/2.75 pullies and they worked fine - to 13 psi boost. I tried a Reichard Raching 2.5 pulley and it slipped. The most boost I ever made was 15 psi with the 6.66/2.75 and the serpentine setup, but had removed the whole inlet piping assembly (flex hose and filter).

You may be having ignition difficulty. I ran into that same problem. I wound up installing a Crane HI-6, which solved it for a while. It came back later and was solved by a new coil.

hey guys, i had the car up on jackstands with no tires on so i figured id start her up and put her in 4th gear and rev her up and see what kind of boost im making. 5-6psi tops and the car seemed liked it was missing. and it didnt seem to make boost right away it took a while to get out of vacuum and into boost. wtf!
this was with fuel pressure at 44psi and no vacuum line connected to the afrp. the guys at zekes removed it completely and didnt have a real reason why!
doesnt that need to be connected for the afpr to work with the boost? anyideas?
also i just recived my cog setup(minus blower pulley, need to order one asap) and its not just a pulley change its a whole new mounting braket ands tensioner so i wont be putting it on right away.

I think you need to be on the ground and have a load behind the wheels to see boost. With no load the engine will just free rev and im surprised you got any boost out of it. The AFPR needs to be hooked to a vacuum source if its a boost compensating regulator, otherwise it wont increase at boost, it will just resort to full pressure that it was set for @ 0 vacuum.

- that makes sensense that it wont boost all the way without load.
-i reconnected the vacuum line to the afpr.

so i went for a cruise downtonw tonight with a bunch of my buds and there cars and the car ran for about 2hrs straight in traffic some highway sitting at idle for about 30 minutes and ran great at low rpms and wont get hot at all which im very pleased about and only used abouit a 1/4 of a tank of gas. so all in all im pleased with the car except for it wont make power past 4800 rpm. i tried it a few times tonight and it really seems to bee breaking up alot after 4800. also the car is very slow to start. it almost wont go and then just starts everytime, even with the msd box installed. could i have a ground some where causing this? my buddy said one of my tail lights was acting up a little?
these seem to be the last 2 bugs left in the car. it was really nice to take her out for the cruise tonight and get to enjoy my car finally after only 3 years.

hey guys, ive read a few things about how the stock 1 BAR MAP good for N/A cars or very low boosted cars and that the@ BAR MAP is needed for cars up to 15psi. is this true. could this be why at like 9psi(4800rpm) the car starts acting up. this would be a very simple fix if its the problem.

Not as simple a fix as you think. You need to completely re-do the tune to go to a 2 bar map sensor and it cuts the resolution in half. Theres a big thread on 2 bar, read the WHOLE thing. I dont think thats your problem, I run about 10-12 psi and have no issues with a 1 bar, but im stock cube. Do you have any logs of this problem. Im sure someone here could help you if you produce logs and more info like fuel press, timing, etc. Ive had a failing opti cause this very type of problem. Also you need to have the check valve like in the factory opti vent harness otherwise you're pressurizing the opti and who knows what kind of freakish things that may cause. Do you have adequate crankcase ventilation? What are the plugs gapped to, could be blowing the spark out?

-i do have the check valve installed
-for crankcase venting i have a 12an fitting welded to each valve cover and a braided line from each into a vented catch can so i doubt thats the problem.
-plugs gapped at .30
-its definately an ignition or fuel problem as its on at high rpm. i have the dual intake setup but noticed the the 3/8 fuel line has a 5/16 nipple on it in the tank. should i cut it off so its 3/8 the whole way? would that make a difference.
