Almost Time To Be Rolling Again!!!
Some of you here may remember the old thread about my turbo build:

Well, after some personal setbacks that really delayed this thing being finished up, we're just about there. The PTK manifold flanges were far from straight so the motor had to be pulled and to get everything nice and flat. Also, I demanded that I have A/C so the radiator had to be moved forward 8".
Now, the car is on a VERY conservative tune as the exhaust supplied with the kit is no where near enough. So now that the car is being buttoned up, I'm hoping to pick it up next week to have the custom exhaust done.
Because of ground clearance issues (the car is very low), I'll be going with a 4" oval system that will run along the original factory location. I'll be running a cutout on the downpipe where it turns to head to the pass side of the car. for track duty. I also plan on running a 4" oval Random Tech cat. As of now, I''m still trying to determine the right muffler. I'll take pictures of this setup when it gets done.
Then I will go back to have the final tune done. I'm worried that my stock rear wont last the dyno session. Maybe the Torsen Diff and stronger diff cover will be enough so it can just last for that.
That's all. Just wanted to give an update to a project that's been a long time coming.

Glad to see you are up and running.
Mine is still in a million pieces but I did test fit everything on the old motor that I pulled out. I only had fitment issues with the very back driver side exhaust manifold, it had to be "adjusted" about 1/4" to fit for some reason. I am glad I did not run into the issue you listed in your other post.
I butchered a test front fascia trying to find a look I liked for the intercooler. I ended up cutting out most of the middle leaving just a small part before the holes the foglights sit in, and I have a billet grille powdercoated black to mask the fact it is cut out. I am going to use it as a model for the paint/body shop to reproduce.
My only real question as of right now is what type of bolt/nut I use to mount the turbo onto the hotside parts as I had no hardware to do so with. Other than that waiting on my bottom end and the fuel system is about all I need to do.
I have really considered a tubular k member before I drop the new motor in, but I dont really know how much I want/need one.

Dude.... I haven't touched the car in over 2 years. I've been so busy with work that I just don't have the time. Not only do I not have the time but with the purchase of the FJ I started getting into offroading. The money pit just got deeper!
