Any thoughts on sheetmetal intake for FI cars?
I've got a sheetmetal LT1 intake down at the shop that I'm thinking of trying out. It's got much more plenum volume than the LT4, and the runners are 3 inch, slightly tapered.
Any thoughts as if this will be much benefit on a turbo car?

Any improvement is good but on a FI car a sheetmetal intake is going to not be that big of a help over a LTx intake vs. a n/a application.
Id say forget it if you were looking at buying one for $2k+, but since you have one already, definately do it. They also look good
No idea on what kind of actual #s youll gain, i hope you get it on a dyno soon after and let us know. How much boost are you running?

Yeah, I agree that it would be much more beneficial on a naturally aspirated setup.
Just looking into the LT4 intake, the plenum seems small, and there are alot of obstructions. The plenum necks down after the TB, the wall at the top for the fuel line crossover, there are also 'bumps' above the port dividers.
Also, the angle of the sheetmetal intake ports are higher than the LT4.

Maybe you'll get lucky and get better airflow into the heads and a better overall VE and pick up some power....not outta the question but not worth the cost new
but since you have it there, its just the cost of gaskets
let us know how it works out
