Anyone else have a leaky Vortech???

i bought my SC kit brand new from a guy on ebay. its only got about 250 miles on it and its already leaking oil. i dont have any reciepts for it so i cant prove how old the SC is or how many miles are on it.

has anyone else had any problems with their vortech SC?

thanks,
jeremy

Re: Anyone else have a leaky Vortech???

My S Trim head unit developed a minor external leak after about 25K miles. I lived with it for another 10K and then sent it in to Vortech for a "tune up". No more leak. Check to be sure your leak isn't coming from the oil feed hose. I had a faulty hose (leaked at the swivel joint) and replaced it.

The tune up runs about $300, they install new bearings and seals.

Re: Anyone else have a leaky Vortech???

Never heard of getting an EGR code due to adding a blower. I hang out with 2 other guys with Vortech blowers, one on a 96 TA and the other one's a 95 like mine...none of us have had EGR issues. You should have you car dyno tuned; I'm sure your tuner can address your EGR issue...no need to change to a 2 bar MAP sensor.

Re: Anyone else have a leaky Vortech???

i dont know anyone near me that does that kind of stuff. and its weird because the code didnt come up right after i had madz28 tune it for me. it was probably 80 miles or so later.

it seems like i have a strange car. no one else had any problems with their MAF spazing out with low boost levels like i did. i had to get the maf massager to fix that problem.

didnt a group of you so cal guys fly out a dyno tuner to tune your cars?

if you or any of your friends end up getting the new tunercat software for the obdII lemme know, maybe we could work something out to do some fine tuning.
